Relax with Reading

I’d like to start a new segment for the upcoming year; Relax with Reading

So many of you ask me for suggestions of ways to calm your body, spirit and mind after a long day of life. We all have challenges within our daily lives and nothing will allow you to transport yourself into your imagination like a good book! So let’s start with some scientific data!

The occipital lobe is the area of the brain that processes visual information. The visual stimulation of reading exercises the occipital lobe. This helps with the imagination, which will also help with creativity. The occipital lobe also has a big impact on making decisions. The parietal lobe is the part of the brain that turns letters into words, and words into thoughts. *

The parietal lobe is the part of the brain that turns letters into words, and words into thoughts. The parietal lobe is mainly recognized for its ability to increase writing skills. It also helps with reading comprehension. When anyone is reading, the parietal lobe becomes very active and works with the temporal lobe to store information. *

Reading is a great exercise that helps people process information verbally and visually. Reading really improves every aspect of communication skills. Mental stimulation will improve brain function. Reading is clearly the best way to increase mental stimulation. The best part about mental stimulation is that it will develop new neurons, no matter how old the individual is the brain can still create and develop new neurons. This is exciting news for everyone because it shows that we should really invest the rest of our lives into education. *

Now that your brain has the knowledge it needs to say yes to reading let me get back to my purpose here! As clients you share every part of your lives with me. Which I am honored and grateful to be a part of. You also share a great number of books with me. My goal is to share these titles and authors with you as a group.

At night just image me having my hour escape with a good book whisking me away to some unknown vista and story line before I fall asleep with these authors. This is a healthy escape as it not only will fill voids I might be experiencing in the moment, but perhaps could deepen my knowledge of a topic, open me up to other ideas or for personal enrichment. I prefer to open up my imagination than be bombarded by someone else’s visual cues of a story from the TV.

Some books come from my mom and dad, whom I share a Kindle account with. Some come from your suggestions during your treatments.

So here’s my mission. Each week the REJUVENATE Jive will have a new section; Relax with Reading. This heading will have a quick link to my email. Send me book suggestions to share with other clients. Your name will appear NO WHERE in the listing. Only the date of the suggestion, Author and Title. I will see how this works to see how far I wish to take it. This gives everyone an opportunity to share Great Books with a larger audience. The target is something fun for us all to share with each other as we expand not only our brains, but our knowledge and insight.
